Keith Brown, chief executive of the new business-led organisation promoting tourism, Visit East Anglia, will discuss how your business can work with VEA in partnership, and maximise the opportunities coming up over the next 12 months, including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Queen's Jubilee celebration, as well as working with the new East Anglian rail franchise operator, Abellio. VEA is supported by some of the most successful tourism businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk and brings a unified tourism voice to the region.
About Keith
Ater graduating from Kingston University in Surrey, Keith joined British Airways as a commercial trainee and worked in marketing specialising in third party partnerships including car rental and hotel sector development. Keith then moved directly into the hotel industry and held several senior marketing roles and was Vice President of Marketing for Hilton PLC until 2006 after which he joined East of England Tourism as Chief Executive. As a result of the total withdrawal of its public sector funding and EET's eventual closure, Keith has been working with a small group of East Anglian business leaders on a new commercially driven organisation that culminated in the launch of Visit East Anglia in September last year.
Also joining Keith will be Steve Elsom from Lloyds
Steve says: “As we all start to think about 27th July and the Opening Ceremony, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will be a key topic of conversation for most of us. Across the small business community there are further considerations - staffing levels through the Games, transport and delivery plans, technology and security requirements and how businesses can bring the Games ‘to life’ for their staff and customers. Join us to hear how you and your business can overcome any challenges the London 2012 Games may bring and what you will need do to prepare for what will be ‘the greatest show on earth’.“
